Improved SpectroDens

TECHKON will show an improved version of their SpectroDens instrument at Drupa, with new optics and a full color display.

The German instrument builders are well known for producing user-friendly devices, and the color display is going to make it much easier to work with colorimetric values in the pressroom. TECHKON have also incorporated an LED light source, which makes it possible to do ISO 13655 M1 measurements. Most graphic arts spectrophotometers today are M0 instruments, meaning they do not comply with the stricter definition of UV light in the illumination that is part of the M1 measuring condition.

The measuring head itself is also redesigned, so structured surfaces and the direction of the instrument have less of an impact on the color measurement.

While being primarily an instrument for spot readings, the new Spectrodens is equipped with tracking wheels to enable short scan measurements as well.
