X-Rite and Pantone have launched a new certification program for printers. The purpose is to help qualified printers advertise their ability to handle and reproduce PANTONE spot colors consistently.
The audit program contains prepress checks and a press test, as is usual in the myriad of different ISO12647/PSO/G7 certifications. In addition to this, a PANTONE Certified Printer also has their ink room and ink mixing procedures audited.
